Victorian Kitchen Renovation | Dulwich, South London
Brief
The kitchen of this beautiful Victorian house, situated in the prestigious neighbourhood of Dulwich, South London, had become dated and disconnected from the home’s character. Our clients, avid home cooks, felt the existing dark cabinetry and cramped atmosphere hindered their enjoyment of the space. The goal was to breathe new life into the “heart of the home” while respecting the architectural features of the property.
The transformation is anchored on a sophisticated, light-filled aesthetic that maximises the sense of space. We replaced the heavy, dark units with bespoke, bright cabinetry to instantly lift the room’s energy. To add a touch of timeless luxury, we installed premium Carrara marble worktops, providing a stunning natural texture that complements the Victorian proportions. Every detail, from the hardware to the lighting, was selected to create a seamless blend of contemporary functionality and classic elegance.
Design Approach
While the original footprint of the kitchen was retained, our approach focused on radical spatial optimisation. We reorganised the internal storage solutions to provide significantly more capacity without cluttering the floor plan. By refining the ergonomics of the workspace, we ensured that the kitchen is not only a visual masterpiece but also a highly functional environment for cooking and entertaining. The result is a bright, inviting sanctuary that our clients now adore spending time in, perfectly suited to the affluent lifestyle of South London.
